june in a few words
This past month has been about reflecting, growth, and releasing. While this was not the summer I had envisioned, (thanks to a broken knee) I have come a long way since May and am trying to release the bitter taste resentment has left in my mouth (#riphotgirlsummer).
highs
walking for the first time (with crutches)
cutesy indoor picnics & soiree’s
matcha dates
new books added to my shelves
handwritten letters
a new jellycat to add to my collection (she still doesn't have a name)1
what I was consumed by this month
Here’s a short list of things I loved this month.
watching
During my bed rotting era, I watched a lot of things while mentally fighting the battle of regaining strength. From movies, shows, and YouTube videos here are a few of my favorites:
I can not get the film Blonde out of my head. It was so powerful, so moving, and so gut wrenching. I think about it at least 3 times a day. Ana de Armas did an amazing job of capturing Marilyn Monroe’s inner turmoil. The visual art of shifting from black and white to color, from full screen to retro frame was absolutely stunning. I can’t recommend it enough.
Hitomi for days I need some self love and grounding.
Amalie Star for days I need to feel like I am on FaceTime with a friend.
Vogue Beauty Secrets when I need a self -care day.
reading
I needed a companion to spiral down the rabbit hole of depression with me. So, I have been reading Otessa Moshfegh’s, Year of Rest & Relaxation in moderation because boy, can that one be a trip.
I have also been loving Hollywood’s Eve, a biography on the literary cool girl Eve Babitz for when I want a deep dive into Old Hollywood on a street parallel to that of Joan Didion.
Along with random books on my Kindle: Attached, A Touch of Chaos, and Sweetbitter to name a few.
If you have book reccs I would love to add them to my tbr list so feel free to leave them in the comments.

consuming
My newest obsession has been pistachio milk matcha lattes with a touch of lavender syrup and brown sugar.
As well Trader Joe’s rice noodle pasta.
doing
I have been leaning into my creative era and more recently, transitioned from my port red Leuchtturm journal to Substack, to share my random thoughts and musings.
Hi, welcome to my notes app.
While I do still love putting pen to paper, there is something so magical and reaffirming about releasing your thoughts out into the world and having them received by others so warmly. I can not thank you enough for being here.
thinking
The panic of transitioning into law school is slowly starting to settle in, leaving me with a sense of constant anxiety and imposter syndrome. However, I have yet to learn how to walk on my own so that anxiety is currently taking precedence.
I am also really interested in the remanence of soul ties and am currently researching how to release old ties that we no longer wish to be burdened by.
Also, healing frequencies and meditations have been so pivotal to my overall wellness this month so if you are still not convinced, let my testimony be your nudge into the vortex.
thank you so much for reading. if you enjoyed this post and want a sneak peek into my journal feel free to subscribe. if you want access to my inner most musings upgrade your subscription or pledge for when I decide to lock a few things behind a secret code.
My newest jellycat is a ballerina bunny. Here are the names I have short listed, if you would be so kind as to help me choose that would be lovely — Aurora, Juliet, Giselle (Ellie for short), Eloise, Elodie, Odette, and Arabella.
