july in a few words
This past month has been about getting back on my feet (no, literally!), going out on cute little dates, and trying to make as many memories with loved ones as I possibly can before life gets busy again. With the start of law school rapidly approaching, imposter syndrome is starting to settle in and I am literally digging through YouTube for words of advice and note taking strategies. I try to think of this as a positive form of doom scrolling because at least it’s productive and informative. But take my advice if you are also currently in a life transition… rest now, while you still can.
highs
coffee dates
trying almost every matcha in town (there’s so many coffee shops!)
shopping for my new space
adding mini workouts back into my routine
finding a dairy free ice cream shop!!! (a major win for my lactose intolerant girlies)
what I was consumed by this month
Here’s a short list of things I loved this month.
watching
If you know me, you know that I am always watching something. I wish we had another season of The Summer I Turned Pretty but alas, we have to wait until next summer. Here are some of the things I have been watching to fill the void this month.
the idea of you: honestly, I will have to rewatch this movie because I was completely enamored with Anne Hathaway. I haven’t seen her in a lead role in a while and let me tell you, she is still absolutely ethereal. Dare I say, even more so now! Her bangs, her smile, her toned arms, her grace, the way she talks. Ugh, I adore her. Also, making a note to use her perfect pout as reference when/if, I ever decide to get filler.
the bachelorette: Hear me out, every girl needs a “brain off” show and this is currently mine. While I am not too excited about Jenn being this season’s bachelorette, I will still watch for the drama. Do we have any favorites? I know I do!1
currently on YouTube: there is nothing I love more than finding new book reccs and YouTubers. I love the vibes of this creator and her book stacks are very similar to my own! Give this a view if you are currently looking for new books to add to your tbr.

reading
This month I have been really trying to enjoy the last few weeks of freedom I have before reading for fun gets replaced with reading for law school. Here are a few of my favorite reads from July:
I have been waiting for this book to hit my libby app since LAST year and now that it’s finally here I don’t want it to end! This is the final installment of my favorite series. This series is a reimagining of Hades x Persephone’s love story and I can’t get enough of it. This is the perfect series to get out of a reading slump. There is also a parallel series written from Hades’ point of view and let me tell you it is better than you think.
Attached: The New Science of Adult Attachment
This is SUCH an interesting read and great for anyone looking to better understand themselves. Everyone always says to love yourself before you love someone else but no one ever tells you how. This book does exactly that by helping you figure out what your attachment style is, what you may need to work on, and how best to show up for yourself AND your partner in a relationship.
I haven’t gotten too far on this one so I will report back to you later.
saving
my fav substack reads from this month:
consuming
My current obsession is spiced rose & hibiscus iced tea.
Here’s my recipe:
boil water
add in brown sugar, honey, or agave syrup
steep soothing rose tea & positive hibiscus tea for 15-20mins
add dragon fruit syrup to taste
pour over lots of ice
wearing
Lately, I have been wearing lots of linen sets because I can’t even THINK of squeezing into jeans with this heat!
doing
Scholarship searching
Freaking out over grad school
Hating adulting
Desperately trying to enjoy my last two weeks of freedom
obsessing
I am currently obsessing over Anne Hathaway (if you couldn’t already tell), Miley Cyrus’ pilates arms, wearing bala bangles while I blowout my hair, and the upcoming book launch documenting the parallel lives of Joan Didion and Eve Babitz.3

Sam N. is literally Flynn Ryder and Aladdin combined. Yes, absolutely, yes.
excuse me? the way Kayam mixes Punjabi, French, and Spanish, so effortlessly! yeah I am swooning
Eve Babitz is quite literally the epitome of BRAT!
Also, can we talk about Kamala HQ??? What a crazy era we live in. To think that the presidential campaign now revolves around meme culture and TikTok is literally INSANE. Major shout out to whoever is running her socials though because they are iconic!
Lmao ive been listening to toxic too
I loved reading this so much! 🫶🏾 I'm also freaking out because my university starts in 2 months. It's a lot of time I know, but I can't help but feel anxious already haha!! 😭
