i loved this. touched my heart in many ways and inspired me to talk about a few stories that live gone through in regards to weight. thank you for sharing sweet one. you write absolutely beautifully ♥️
I related to the bullying part so much. I remember I had this group of “friends” that would make fun of me for being skinny and would snicker to each other about my legs whenever I walked up the stairs to the second floor of the school, not knowing I had just never had a proper nutrition and barely had food at home. 🥺
I hope you get to heal soon and I hope one day you can see that you’re incredibly beautiful and incredibly talented. Sending you hugs and love your way my lovely ✨
I am so sorry you had to go through this and appreciate your kind words.
I’m always shocked by how mean kids can be. I always wonder what caused innocent children to grow so bitter and hurtful at such a young age. Maybe that’s me being overly compassionate but nonetheless we all have our own wounds. Thank you for sharing yours in this space space. 💌
Thank you for reading and for these kind words, it truly means a lot. I think some of the pressure young girls place on themselves stems from longing for the male gaze. That’s not to put the ownness on men entirely but I think there is a lot we can collectively do to work towards minimizing the societal pressures we subconsciously place on each other. The phrases: “men don’t cry” and “you hit like a girl” are just as damaging, outdated, and not spoken on enough.
I think there’s a lot we can all do to protect each other. Both emotionally and physically. As a man I’ll speak for the men. We need to do a better job of holding other men accountable. Different issue but also related. Harassment in the workplace. Protecting humans from harassment and abuse should not be a matter of convenience. It should be elevated and prioritized no matter the cost to business, reputation, or finances.
I think of the world I want for my daughter. A world where she grades her value in meaningful, permanent ways. A world where she is empowered and cherished. We can create that world one interaction at a time in our daily lives.
wow wow wow thank you for being so vulnerable and brave in sharing your own experiences. I love that you said “we don’t need an ideal body but just a healthy body. I’m going to add this to my mental repertoire whenever the negative thoughts creep in. Sending you lots of love, light, and healing.

I don’t even feel I have any business commenting on this. Just wanted to say it stirred all my compassion for what our young girls go through.

I couldn’t agree more! Here’s to hoping we can create a more compassionate world for the next generation.
